A number of buildings within the Royal Berkshire Hospital site had been identified as having ingress of water from roofs that had passed their life expectancy.

Our client was looking for a fast effective seal of these roofs, without causing any major disruption to the daily activities of the buildings, as they were all in full occupation

Our solution was to clean & prepare the existing roof finish, apply Prokol primer, and in some instances lay roofing membrane consisting of an impregnated polyester reinforcement, coated on both sides with flexible coating bitumen and bottom side provided with a build‐in vapour diffusion layer based on diamond‐shaped profiled self‐adhesive SBS modified bitumen.

All were finished in colour-appropriate spray-applied Prokol Seamless 260 FR CE certified fast cure polyurea at 2.5mm DFT terminating onto the GRP trim/soldier course joint, all protrusions and roof lights were weathered in via a continuous monolithic membrane.

In addition, Prokol Pure Polyurea will not suffer from hydrolysis degradation and is engineered to retain sitting water and will not degrade due to water contact, it also has up to 1400% elongation for thermal expansion & contraction.
