The Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, usually referred to as the Lycée or the French Lycée, is a French co-educational primary and secondary independent day school, situated in South Kensington in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London.

The complex comprises of a range of both modern and Grade II Listed buildings. These buildings form part of a group of Grade II Listed terrace houses built in 1857 known as the ‘Cromwell Houses’ and were designed by Architect Johnson.

UKG worked with Vinci Facilities and their client to renovate and restore these splendid period properties. We were initially required to remove the existing lead-based coating which involved strenuous health monitoring of operatives and managers.

This highly regulated work was then followed by extensive repairs and renovations to the defective architectural features using Roman Cement and the final finish was achieved using specialist masonry paint. Both of these steps required us to use materials to comply with Grade II Listed renovation requirements.
